Amina Awad, LCSW

As a social worker with a concentration in Afro-centric fieldwork, Amina is committed to working with clients from marginalized communities from a range of backgrounds in age, gender, race, ability, sexuality, and religious background.

She utilizes the relational and liberatory modality of Narrative Therapy, to help clients address depression, anxiety and couple relations.

Moreover, Amina brings a trauma informed and decolonial lens to treatment: She utilizes Trauma Systems Therapy (TST) which emphasizes the intersectional identities and systems that clients exist under.

As Queer immigrant therapist, Amina is committed to working with and empowering LGBTQ+ individuals, BIPOC and immigrant communities.

Through therapy, Amina honors each clients' struggle, triumph, resilience, joy, and story. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys writing, playing board games, and engaging in community organizing.

Amina is fluent in and can provide therapy in Arabic.
